“”Three Sisters” lets us recognize, honor and activate the rich legacies of Indigenous Wisdom, Western Society and Digital expression through music and the stories that surround their creation.
Unforgetting
“Unforgetting” indigenous culture involves actively remembering, honoring, and reclaiming aspects of Indigenous traditions and histories that have been marginalized or erased. Connecting through our common humanity can ground us and open doors for kinship through collaboration.

The concert is inspired by The Three Sisters, a creation story from the Haudenosaunee and Iroquois that explains how the crops corn, beans and squash came to be grown together. The story symbolizes the strength of family bonds, sustenance, and support. Using this metaphor, we explore how we may draw upon indigenous wisdom, modern society and digital expression to enact the kind of world we want to live in, nurtured by the power of storytelling for healing and renewal.
Concert/Talk HERE Gallery
Santa Fe NM 5/25/25 2-4PM
Ferdi Serim, multi-instrumentalist and composer will be joined by guitarist Mike Nord, in a concert at HERE Gallery (May 25 from 2-4PM) combining live improvisation and original compositions.
Ferdi Serim says “In times such as these, it is important to remember that well-being stems from a healthy relationship between people and their environs. Restoring and renewing those relationships means we must Learn, Unlearn and Relearn, a process of Unforgetting.”
Our three sisters are holograms of culture.
The first sister (Taos flute) honors a legacy of gratitude going back thousands of years to the Ancestors who dreamed us into being, even before times of written language.
The second sister (Alto flute) recognizes contributions of Western culture going back centuries (from Bach to blues to bebop, keyboards, symphonies).
The third sister (Digi horn) goes back decades, expanding expression and reach through digital, providing us opportunities to dream into being a world that works for everyone.
