What is Identity?

Identity is a reciprocal relationship between the personal and the group. There is personal kinship, which is claimed — Who am I? There is social kinship, which is being claimed by — Who are we? Where these meet, Identity forms. ASCEND views Identity as foundational strength: we are verbs, not objects. Identity only deepens over time.
